POOL FACILITY AND SENIOR CITIZEN/TEEN CENTER

Senior Citizen/Teen Center

The building can be used by seniors (age 55+) Monday-Friday between 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 p.m.

**NEW** Teens (youth grades 5-12) may use the facility on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 6:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M; Friday evenings 6:00-10:00 P.M.; and Saturday evenings 6:00-11:00 P.M. **NEW**

The facility is supervised at all times and offers free drop-in passive recreation activities. Furnishings include: wide screen televison, pool tables, snooker table, air hockey table, foosball table, Xbox game system with games, (2) wall mounted televisions, table tennis, card tables, couches, computer & internet access, dance floor, and a variety of board games.

New for seniors is Free exercise equipmnet including (3) treadmills, (2) stationary bikes, elliptical trainer and a multi-station weight machine.

Seniors may also dance on Wednesday evenings between 7:00 & 10:00 P.M.

SWIMMING POOL 2008 SEASON OPENS SATURDAY, MAY 24.

2008 daily swim fees are:

  • Resident
    • youth (age 3-17) $4.00
    • adult (age 16 & over) $5.00
    • senior (age 65 & over) $4.00
  • Non-Resident
    • youth $5.00
    • adult $6.00
    The definition of a resident is someone residing within the boundaries of Canton Township. Youth who reside with a resident during the summer months are considered residents also. Anyone may utilize the pool at a special price of $2.75 for youth and $3.75 for adults after 5:00 P.M.

Season Swim Passes

Season swim passes will again be available for the 2008 season. The Pool will not sell discount coupons this season, persons who still have coupons may use them during the upcoming season or put them towards the purchase of season swim passes.

  • Pool pass fees are:
    • Resident Youth $80.00
    • Resident Adult $100.00
    • Resident Family $185 (up to four members)
      • Additional members $50.00 each)
    • Non-Resident Youth $120.00
    • N/R Adult $150.00
    • N/R Family $277.50 (up to four members)
      • Additional members $75.00 each).

The Park District will offer discounted bulk entries to non-profit agencies and other governmental bodies at the rate of $500 per 250 entries.

Pool hours are Noon-7:00 PM daily, weather permitting. The 2007 swim season is scheduled between May 26 and August 19. Persons 15 years of age or over that are interested in being lifeguards, cashiers or concession workers at the pool should contact the Big Creek Park Recreation Center at 647-POOL (7665).

The pool is available to rent 7:15-8:15 P.M. daily and betwwen 10:00 A.M. and 11:30 A.M. on Saturdays and Sundays. Rental rate is $200/hour.

Birthday Parties include (1) hour of swimming and refreshments. Cost for up to (20) children is $109.00. Any additional children are $5.00 each.

The Big Creek Park Pool concession stand operates during regular pool hours. A partial list of available items is below.

  • Hot Dog: $1.75
  • Nachos w/cheese: $2.00
  • Pizza: $3.25
  • Pretzels: $1.50
  • Popcorn: $0.75
  • Various Candy: $0.75
  • Slushee Drinks: Small $1.75, Large $2.25
  • Soft Drinks: Small $1.00, Large $1.50
  • Ice Cream: $1.00
